Oslo is home to popular music festivals, world-class museums and events.

Munch, National Museum, and Astrup Fearnley are just a few of the world-class museums you can enjoy in Oslo. The Norwegian Opera and Ballet hosts a range of performances from classical concerts to contemporary ballet. Dansens Hus hosts exciting dance groups from around the world. Music venues such as Rockefeller, Oslo Spektrum, Blå, and Parkteatret bring you everything from indie rock to hip hop. Cosmopolite, and Victoria Nasjonal Jazzscene offer new world music, blues, and jazz.

Festivals, music, and entertainment

In the summer, Oslo hosts a number of music festivals. Øyafestivalen in August is one of the largest festivals with a diverse line-up from around the world. Piknik i parken and Over Oslo are also popular choices among locals.

Litteraturhuset and Deichman library (with several branches around town) are national arenas for literature, knowledge, and debate.

For movies with English subtitles, check out Gimle kino, Frogner kino, Vega scene For large screens and IMAX, visit Colosseum kino, and Odeon Oslo at Storo. Showcasing classics and new releases is Cinemateket.
